We collect the information you give us when you enquire about or book the apartment, including your name, contact details, requested/confirmed dates, number of guests, booking correspondence and payment status. We use this information to respond to your enquiry, provide a quotation, administer your booking and stay, handle payments and communications, and deal with any query or dispute. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract and performing the booking contract.
For a confirmed stay in Spain, we must also collect prescribed traveller and booking information for every guest in order to meet Spanish accommodation-registration obligations. We process this information because we have a legal obligation. We do not request or retain copies of passports or identity documents for this purpose.
Cookies and website use
We use essential technologies to operate and secure the website. We will use optional analytics or similar technologies only where you have given consent through our Cookie Settings. See our Cookie Policy for current details.
Who receives your information
We do not sell your information or share it for third-party marketing. We may use trusted service providers for website hosting, email/cloud storage, IT support and payment processing, where they need the information to provide their service. We may also provide required guest-registration information to the Spanish authorities through the legally required reporting system. We require appropriate security and confidentiality from service providers.
International processing
The apartment is in Spain. Information may therefore be accessed or used in the UK, Spain and the European Economic Area to operate the booking and meet legal requirements. Where a transfer is required, we will use the legally recognised protection required at that time.
How long we keep information
We delete unsuccessful booking enquiries after 12 months, unless we need them for an ongoing matter. We keep necessary booking/accounting records for six years from the end of the relevant company financial year. We keep statutory Spanish guest-registration records for three years from the end of the stay. We securely delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.
Your rights and complaints
Subject to the legal conditions, you can ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of your personal information, and you can object to certain processing. To use these rights, contact bushchatspain@gmail.com. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or, where applicable, the Spanish data-protection authority.
Providing information
The information required to answer an enquiry is voluntary. However, if you do not provide information needed for a booking or the legally required Spanish guest-registration process, we may not be able to confirm the booking or provide the accommodation.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
This website uses cookies to better the users experience while visiting the website. Booking Terms — guest-registration clause
Guest Registration and Check-in
The apartment is in Spain. To comply with Spanish accommodation-registration and public-security requirements, we must collect and communicate prescribed information about each person staying at the apartment. Each guest aged 14 or over must complete the required entry information; information for younger guests must be provided by the accompanying adult.
We will send the required secure check-in instructions after the booking is confirmed. Please do not send us a scan, photograph or copy of a passport or identity document. We will not normally ask for bank statements or utility bills.
We process this information because we are legally required to do so and retain the statutory record for the applicable period. Further information is in our Privacy Notice.
